THE
PUBLICATION FOCUSES ON PRIMORDIAL THEMES
FOR THE QUALIFICATION OF TRANSFORMER´S LEADERSHPS
Why
only a few women occupy directors and presidency duties in the world? What
are the obstacles that they face to perform leadership in a bigger number,
in the many social spaces? After all, which power do the women wants?
These
questions were the starting point for the elaboration of this book. In
search of tips to work with a reality so complex, the authoress looked for
answers in many different sources: from the Latin-American popular feminist
education to the most modern theories of organizational management; from the
systematization of experiences made by popular Brazilian leaders to the
productions made by researchers, the press, groups and organizations about
the reality of women in different social areas.
As
a result, they constructed a panel of the main themes that involves the
qualification of the called transformers leaderships, people engaged with
the change in the social relations between men and women and the
construction of a fair society,
that has dignity and citizenship.
THE
RESULT OF A LONG AND MUNICIOUS PROCESS
The
20th century was marked by the growth of the public women’s
leadership in many different social areas. The millions of planetary,
regional and local process that conduced us to this result brought up the
necessity to review the ways humans see others and the social organization
forms, with the wish to keep a equilibrium in the relations of men and
women, as well the ways with less authoritarian and hierarchic. Being
realistic, no even one institution escapes from the necessity to review this
paradigm.
It
is in this context that is published Changing the World: The feminist leadership in the 21st
century, the result of 3 years with the intense work of qualification,
with a multiplier effects in ten Brazilian States, with many leaders of
non-governmental organization and with popular movements. Developed by Rede
Mulher de Educação (Women’s Network) and by Fundación Directa
(Espanha), the project Gender and Leadership contributed to the development
of leaders capable to question the unequal relationship, the historical
invisibility of women, and to search for a bigger feminist contribution in
the decision and power areas. The initiative counted during 3 years with the
important financial contribution of Instituto de La Mujer, organism of
the Spanish government.
The
UNIFEM- Development Fund of the
United Nations for Women contributed decisively to the graphic production.
The originality of this publication resulted in the conjugation of efforts
which contributed reflections and works realized back ago in Spain with
business women, and here in Brazil with popular leaderships from different
states in the country, connecting them with the theoretical reflections of
different chains that points to the change of this paradigm to the “other
way of being” and the leadership that we search.
To
the readers of this book, we wish to be bringing discoveries and
rediscoveries and collective and individual learning and that contributes to
the “breaking of
the ceiling crystal” that unable the blooming of feminist energy
present in the human being, men and women.
